Thank you so much, Howard! That is so beautiful! I love Steiner (I can't remember how I found a copy of 'The Inner Nature of Music and the Experience of Tone' in college, but I was hooked at that point). The concepts of the Waldorf schools are so amazing to me, and I think they're starting to catch on more in the mainstream (of course, I wish *all* schools were like that...but it's going to take time). Glad to hear the VO legacy has a good chance of carrying on! There are so many people that discourage their children from pursuing artistically fulfilling careers for whatever reason, but as artist, we know that fighting your true talents won't lead to success you can be proud of - it's what we're here to DO! :)

How very wise you are, Dana! Our children are now over 30 and both are good musicians who insist on performing their own music, never covers. They went to a Rudolph Steiner school, which encouraged the flourishing of innate capacities that could make the world better, more fun, more humane, rather than conform to carrying on the same old same old. Like you, they showed early promise, and carried it through, though they never became 'academic'. My daughter is a natural actor and it may be that she will follow me into VO. Of course, that bit is in the genes! All best wishes to you.

Thank you, Derek! I am always glad to dole out a fanny kick, especially to my besties. ;) Y'know, I think it's super healthy to take a step back sometimes until the air changes. One thing we definitely learned that was 100% true was that all that focus and effort builds habits (and what may have seemed like a good one yesterday can certainly be bad today), and it just takes time to change them. We're gonna have to build you new affirmation that replaces "vomit" with "kittens in magical bubbles"!

Hey Dana

First thanks for the shout out and second you are doing a great job with this blog.

I have been on the cosching hangover for quite a while and honestly I feel a lot of the times that I have totally lost my creativity and every time I am going to do something to promote myself or my business it starts to sound like more vomit, how is that for nero-reconditioning...

But just as I helped with a kick in the ass. You have done the same for me. I guess I need to get back to my podcast and make it fun!!

Be warned about these scammers!

One in particular is making the rounds amongst highly reputable voice talent:
