Do you ever feel like no one is listening to you when you talk about your music? I know I sure do. Sometimes I feel like I talk about it all day long and people just don’t give a rat’s ass. Now, I know that’s not necessarily the truth, because other days people are all over it and I really feel the love that folks have for what I’m doing.

This got me to pondering what it is about my message that’s different from one experience to the next. How am I relating what I’m saying that makes the difference between a good response and a bad one? more from Paul Clark…

Now’s the perfect time to get up to speed. Jump to all of the articles from the quick links below:

Taking Care of Business I’m finding that the amount of time I need to spend sending out my messages is drastically reduced by the simple task of…more…
Sum of Our Parts Are we going to be the sum of our parts, or are we going to be the victims of our past experiences?..more…
Active or Passive? It could be the difference between spending your day in the studio or at the fry station…more…
What is your value? If you only consider yourself as a hobbyist, why are you dabbling in areas where people are trying to make their livings?..more…
Do you treat it like a business? This is the point where the Pro gets separated from the Amateur…more…
Beginner’s Mind and the Musician Our true path to Independence and musical freedom opens before us like a super highway…more…
Celebrate your Indie-pendence! Art is not a game of chance…more…
Be Yourself It’s a funny thing that a lot of the time we just run on auto-pilot, just reacting to situations as they arise…more…
Use every moment The greatest thing about having come out of a punk background is the solid need to…more…
Stand out! How do you plan to avoid the feeding frenzy and make yourself stand alone?..more…
What IS Freedom anyway? Is there really anything more freeing than that?..more…
Cause ya gotta have Faith But if you don’t make the conscious decision to look for it…more…
Fake It Till You Make It! These things are only true if we accept them…more…
The Six Letter, Four Letter Word What you’re seeing are the ones that were the most driven to succeed…more…
The Effects of Negative Input But it’s also a broad and sweeping demand of people who really have no idea of what it truly means…more…
It’s a new day! This is a technique used by professional musicians and athletes every day…more…
Beware the Undertow!! It was also the mirror to remind me of why it is that I love making music so much…more…
Couldn’t have said it better myself. In the end….more…
Ah, the 360 to save the Day. So, as long as you have a vision and pursue it to it’s fullest….more…
The New Standard Bearers It’s becoming more and more apparent that there’s going to be a major meltdown….more…
Crack in the foundation, or beginning of a new era? The public has spoken and they want to be able to….more…
And the Grammy Goes to… That depends on how he really wants to play it….more…
You got Served! Hopefully. It is what makes us who we are…more…
Well how about that! My last post about Simmons Records made it to the front page of their website…more…
Our Savior! Or Canada’s Maybe? Maybe he’s got a secret weapon that is going to convince millions of music listeners…more…
Dealing with the “Change” – Music Edition We’re in the “Final Days” of an evil empire…more…
Keep Good Council This is a very effective tool for keeping you on course with the plans that you’ve created for yourself…more…
Perfect Example of How the Majors Just Don’t Get It. What is at stake is the value of Intellectual Property…more…
To Thyself Be True! It makes it easier for someone with their own ideas, sound, and image to stand out in the crowd…more…
Way to go Coldplay!!! Wow, I guess that’s one way to handle it…more…
More decline in the market for Physical Media? How hard is it getting to get people to drop the cash for a CD…more…
It’s a matter of Auditude How would the artist have to innovate to still be able to make money under a business plan such as this?..more…
Don’t take YOU for granted! All I’m saying is, that when you depend on yourself to stay afloat…more…
Doom, Despair, and Agony on me… I’m willing to bet that I’m not the only guy in America that feels this way…more…
More on the CD Baby buyout front. I don’t put a lot of faith in people who hide behind a pseudonym, but his math in this is pretty intriguing…more…
Talk about Smart Marketing! From the commercial stand point it is a stroke of pure brilliance…more…
The One Thing Labels Don’t Want You to Know! You can go the distance and still retain the control over your own destiny. …more…
Get Clear! What this does is makes us remember that it’s the process that is important…more…
Be the Change You Want to See The reason that all that great advice won’t help you is because…more…
Nameless, faceless masses, or your very own evangelists? It’s the quickest way to get your news spread about…more…
Only a matter of time? What could this “potentially” mean for Indie artists?..more…
Really, CD Baby…Really? Ahhh, the times, they are a changing…more…
Authenticity This is what separates innovators from followers…more…
What do THEY know anyway? A grassroots approach can be just what the doctor ordered…more…
The Power of Everpresence The best way we have of making a name for ourselves is to put ourselves out there and in the spot light as much as possible…more…
Now does this sound like jeopardy? So, imagine my “surprise?” when I started looking through the last weeks sales totals for acts such as…more…
